Martin HD-35... this 1992 model brings back the use of "herringbone"
top trim. Pre-war D-28s were all nicknamed "herringbones"
and were one of Martin's most popular guitars. Herringbone
was a standard on all Martin dreadnought guitars until about
1946 when plastics began improving and then were replacing
the use of "herringbone". In 1992 Martin reintoduced
the use of "herringbone" and have been making them
ever since. This guitar also has the original, striking three
piece back and Martin used lighter 1/4 in. top braces. This
produces a very strong bass. The binding includes extra side
inlays and a bound ebony fingerboard. With custom hardshell
case.
